The Conversations Speech-Language Pathologists Are Having
Welcome to our new space to explore the topics that are prompting SLPs to rethink communication and our practices.
Welcome to Bright Conversations!
What We Will Explore
Over the years, through courses and podcast conversations, we’ve had the chance to talk with clinicians, researchers, educators, and caregivers who are thinking deeply about these questions.
In this space, we’ll be sharing reflections and insights drawn from:
- Conversations with clinicians and experts
- Ideas from Bright Ideas courses
- Moments that shift how we think about communication support
Sometimes we’ll dive into autism and neurodiversity. Other times, we’ll look at familiar topics like AAC, apraxia, and fluency through a slightly different lens.
The goal isn’t to provide definitive answers.
It’s to create thoughtful conversation about how our field continues to evolve.
One of the things we’ve learned through years of conversations with clinicians and parents alike is that many of us are navigating these shifts in real time. We’re balancing research, school expectations, family perspectives, and the lived experiences of the children we support. Sometimes the most meaningful insights come not from having the perfect answer, but from pausing long enough to ask better questions.
This publication is meant to be a space for those questions. We will do that through articles for free subscribers, resources for paid members, and our monthly live office hours!
Live Office Hours (for paid members)
Once a month, we host a live Office Hours session. Think of it as the conversations we all wish we had more time for during the workday.
Each session includes a short focus or guest perspective, followed by open Q&A where you can bring real questions from your caseload, your IEP meetings, or the situations that don’t fit neatly into a textbook.
It’s not a course. There’s no slide deck to keep up with. It’s a space for honest, practical conversation about real-life therapy, with people who understand the work.
If you can’t make it live, the full recording is available afterward so you can listen when it works for you. Check out our first one for free, then sign up for a paid membership for this awesome monthly perk!
We're so glad you are here! Let us know what interests you. We are here to listen!
